Punching Bag Workouts to Lose Weight
If you are a few pounds over your ideal weight, the chances are that you have tried many diets and exercise programs to try and slim down. There seems to be hundreds of diets available, some of them sensible and some of them just downright ridiculous! If we are honest with ourselves, we know that the only way that we can fight the flab and keep it off is with a sensible eating plan and an exercise regimen that is realistic enough for us to follow. All too often we set ourselves goals that we are unable to reach as they require dedicating our lives to following strict, and sometimes very boring, training plans. I wonder if you have ever considered using one of the popular punching bag workouts to lose weight?
These days, punching bags are becoming more and more popular and are making an appearance at nearly every gym and training facility. They have been used by boxers and martial arts students for many years and are a highly respected training tool. But, you must not worry… using punching bag workouts to lose weight will not necessarily make you look like a world heavyweight boxer! A training program can be structured so that you are using calories without building a huge amount of muscles in your shoulders and biceps.
A workout using a punching bag will increase your metabolism tremendously and that is what you need to be able to burn off the calories. Using punching bag workouts to lose weight could result in burning up around 135 calories in just 15 minutes. Obviously this is a general figure and can be increased or decreased depending on just how much energy you put into the routine. To be sure that you are working at your most efficient rate, you would be advised to take a visit to the local gym and have an assessment with a trained instructor. This way you will know that you are working at your optimum capacity for weight loss. Your progress can also be monitored and your weight measured to make sure that there is a steady loss. more…

Boxing - Know Your Punch Bags
Boxing has always been seen as a noble art, anyone who has ever been involved with the sport will tell you that the raining is hard but only half the story. To be a boxer you need to be totally dedicated and let boxing consume your life and you need to have nerves of steel when you step in the ring. That’s wonderful if you’ve got the fitness levels to get you to a stage where you can get on the road to being a boxer. But what about those mere mortals such as you and I who are looking for a release after a long day at work or some where to channel the frustrations of life that we encounter in our day to day lives. How can we use boxing as a way of keeping fit?
Boxing at any level is hard. Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because you are a normal guy who doesn’t want to fight at the Olympics and therefore won’t go to the extremes of the professional guys that it will be easy, it isn’t. Boxing is energy sapping, you are throwing punches and using footwork to move around a bag or opponent put these together for a two minute round and you’ll soon start to feel it.
All amateur and beginners boxing is based around a two minute round with a one minute break between rounds. This minute isn’t always used as a break. A really good way of boosting your fitness levels is to maybe to one set of twenty squat-thrusts, press-ups, burpees, crunches or star jumps. You can take a break between the rounds, or even ever other round but doing a set of these exercises will make a big difference, and you will know you’ve trained hard at the end of the session. more…

Exercises For Lower Abs - How to Build Your Lower Ab Area!
Many men and women simply do not know how to build and define their lower abs. In this article we’ll take a look at some effective exercises for lower abs and how you can best sculpt and define this area effortlessly without much headache!
The first and easiest method to tone this area is by simply lying on your back and performing leg raises. If you perform 50 leg raises a day, this alone is enough to help build and define your lower ab area.
Ideally, you can also use a medicine ball between your legs to add more resistance and really feel the burn and work out your lower abs even further! Another great way to workout this area and actually shrink it is by performing hanging leg raises. You simply hang onto bars and curl up your knees to your chest.
You can also do what I like to call “hanging swings”. This is where you hang on bars and swing from side to side as much as you safely can. Believe it or not this actually helps shrink your waistline!
If you don’t have the convenience of a hanging bar around you, you can also do standing boxing movements from side to side. This is where you perform “boxing movements” from your left side all the way to your right, fully utilizing your waist. This is similar to the “hanging swings”, just that you have gravity on your side instead. This workout really shrinks your waistline literally! It not only works your oblique’s, but it also enhances your lower abdominal area also!
These lower abs exercises are all you need really to get the best looking six pack abs ever!
